Celebrated pianist Alex Conde brings deep roots in flamenco and classical to contemporary jazz. From a musical upbringing in Valencia, Conde has blazed his own musical path around the world.

Conde, Michael Olivera and Pablo Martin Caminero achieve a perfect balance between improvisation, freedom and form. The trio has been selected by CNDM, INAEM, and AIE for their respective circuits.
Conde has played, composed and arranged works to captivate audiences at New York’s Blue Note and San Francisco’s SFJAZZ Center, and from the New York Flamenco Festival to the first Flamenco Jazz Festival in Tokyo.
Weaving traditional forms into innovative new harmonies, Conde delivers an on-stage energy that turns each concert into a unique ride.

BIOGRAPHY
Alex Conde is a pianist, composer, and arranger from Valencia.
Alex Conde is a pianist, composer, and arranger from Valencia with a unique artistic voice. Son of the legendary copla singer Alejandro Conde, he grew up in a family of musicians, developing from an early age a deep sensitivity to both popular and classical music—from copla to Beethoven, Chopin, and Albéniz—later exploring new paths between tradition and sonic avant-garde.
With a classical background, he studied at the José Iturbi Conservatory in Valencia with Sergio Sapena, and later modern music at the Aula de Música Moderna in Barcelona with Jon Urrutia, alternating classes with jam sessions and concerts in Valencia under the guidance of his mentor, trombonist Toni Belenguer. In 2007, he moved to the U.S. to study at Berklee College of Music (Boston) with Danilo Pérez, Ed Bedner, and Frank Carlberg, beginning an artistic journey between San Francisco and New York that has lasted over 15 years.
An international career: stages, festivals, and collaborations
With a trajectory that flows naturally between jazz, folk roots, and original creation, Alex Conde has performed at renowned clubs and festivals such as:

He has shared the bill with or opened concerts for artists such as Chucho Valdés, Wayne Shorter, Vicente Amigo, Rubén Blades, and Diego el Cigala, and has toured the U.S. and Latin America with companies such as Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco, earning a nomination for the Isadora Duncan Dance Awards.
Musical direction and television
In 2024, he served as musical director for the national copla contest on Spanish Television, “La Bien Cantá,” incorporating live orchestral arrangements, band direction, and musical production in an innovative format.
Works and collaborations: from symphonism to Big Band
Among his compositions is “Barrio del Carmen,” a work for piano and orchestra performed by the Oakland Symphony Orchestra and the Miami Chamber Orchestra.
He has collaborated with:
